The German Shepherd Dog is the most popular breed in the whole
world.The GSD was developed at the end of the nineteenth century, in 1899. The "Father of the German Shepherd", Calvary Captain Max Von Stephanotis, endeavored to bring in the standardization of sheepdogs in Germany. The primary function and vocation of the GSD, was foremost the guarding of flocks of sheep. The decrease in the number of flocks and the further development of the breed, led the breeder to find other uses for the GSD.
